A number of residents have raised concerns about the felling of trees on the railway embankment between Hayes and West Wickham.
The trees are subject to a Tree Preservation Order. However, Network Rail has the power to override the order where it is necessary for the maintenance and safety of the railway. Having undertaken a survey they are concerned that some of the trees may fall on the tracks or otherwise endanger passenger safety.
